Rage Against the Minivan
by Kristen Howerton

Searching for personable mom life/ female entrepreneurship books, I stumbled upon Rage Against the Minivan and I’m so glad I did. While I quite like my minivan, I do occasionally want to rage against motherhood – because being a mom is HARD. Kristen Howerton masterfully narrates all her struggles with motherhood. She makes you laugh as she talks about hating to volunteer at school but also seriously discusses miscarriage, divorce, and interracial adoption. A quick and fun read for fans of Jen Hatmaker or #IMomSoHard. Read more →

book cover The Second Home by Christina Clancy

The Second Home
by Christina Clancy

Years ago, a summer spent at their family home in Cape Cod causes a rift between siblings Ana, Poppy, and their adopted brother Michael. With the death of their parents, the siblings must decide what to do with the house and finally come to terms with the secrets of long ago. Although the writing was excellent, I stopped reading this book a quarter of the way through. I just had no interest in spending four more hours reading about how sexual tension, a creepy employer, and poor choices screwed them up for life.
